Obama Bringing Big Boost To Early Education

Despite all the economic turmoil going on in the country right now and for the immediate foreseeable future. Things are really looking up for the future investments in the education of the youth in the US. The incoming president-elect Obama and his team have made it very clear that one of their top priorities for the country as a whole is to step up the education of our youth. With a clear focus on early education of all kids as the biggest investment in our future success as a country.

Obama’s platform has been very open and public in their belief that the more money we invest on our youth and their formative years that the more money we will save in the long run. The belief is that by providing more services and advantages to pre school children and their families that these kids will grow up to be more productive individuals of society. Thus relying less on social services when they get older.

This to me is a no brainer and is unfortunate that we as one of the most powerful and richest nations in the world have not made bigger changes like these sooner, change is coming though! Up until now if you look as early learning programs and pre school programs and services around the country to say that it’s patchwork at best is being kind.

There are centers that are for profit and non-profit, in churches, YMCA’s and even in peoples homes. Where ever people can find it or fit there are resources for early child care scattered in 100 different directions all over this country. We make do with the best that we can with what we can afford not always necessarily the best thing for our kids.

So what are your thoughts on the state of our present day early child care patchwork system. Do you think that the new Obama office will lay the ground work and make the progress we need to secure the future of our children? I would say for the first time in a long time perhaps even in my life time I do see a glimmer of hope for change in the future opportunities for our kids.
